The festival which will be taking place over the course of 5 days will be a colourful and layered artistic program of theatre works and performances by Womxn – for Womxn – with Womxn creatives… covering various issues and/or topics relating to artistic presentations, arts and culture, masterclasses as well as the role of theatre within the landscape of the 21st century.
Thus, The HerStory International Theatre Festival will be a platform for Womxn practitioners from the African continent, diaspora and world; who will be gathering at the Soweto Theatre, to create a sustainable theatre experience for the theatre industry through arts, culture and tourism. The selected delegates included festival curators, creative producers, artistic directors, playwrights, spoken word artists, dancers, comedians, performing arts practitioners, academics and artistic managers who came together to create a colourful and layered artistic program of theatre works and performances by Womxn – for Womxn – with Womxn creatives … covering various issues and/or topics relating to artistic presentations, arts and culture, masterclasses as well as the role of theatre within the landscape of the 21st century.
