Gisemba Ursula is an emerging interdisciplinary artist from Kenya, featuring work in audio-visual crafts. She focuses on the analysis, reflection and commentary on evolving Africanicity. Using cinema to merge different skills, she started as the writer-director for the short film Stocoma. Her project, Beatriz, The Saint Prays, premiered in Kampala Biennale 2020 as a sound installation and soon after at Manyatta Screenings pushing the work into experimentive filmmaking. She continues to test boundaries and makes use of different art forms to represent her worldview.
